There is a saying, “All knowledge returns to Astingrad”. A library older and larger than most cities, Astingrad owes its endurance and reputation to its impressive retrieval teams. In Astingrad: The Interview you play as Aisling, retrievalist hopeful about to undertake the strange final test in Astingrad's interview process.

DEV NOTES:

Astingrad: The Interview is a visual novel that was my first attempt at making a game in Godot. It should be about 5-10 minutes to play through it once, and 2-3 play throughs should let you see a most of its content. The UI in particular is heavily based on Disco Elysium, and there are some dice rolls, although only a few due to the small size of the game.

The game is missing some relatively basic elements like a settings page/volume adjustment, although I consider it feature complete for my purposes, e.g. learning a way to implement dialogue in Godot I more or less like (w/ the Clyde dialogue plugin if you're curious). It may receive updates if it's unexpectedly popular, but I wouldn't bank on that. PWYW Donations are something I'll take as encouragement to keep making games in this style and/or using this dialogue system, rather than incentive to improve/expand this game specifically. 

First time exporting a game from Godot, so apologies if any of the downloadable versions are busted.

Me learning Godot happened to line up with the March 2024 Minigame a month jam, so it'll be a submission in that.
